festcull

The timetable does the sorting.

Built for gig and festival photographers. Any camera, any computer.

festcull showing a festival day split into band folders, with one set’s shortlisted frames marked red in the filmstrip.

A folder per band, even when your cameras’ clocks are off.

Type the timetable once. festcull corrects for each camera’s clock and moves every photo, with its sidecar, into its band’s folder. It follows you across every stage, and where a set boundary is unclear, it shows you those frames; one click fixes it. You see the plan before anything moves, and Undo puts it all back.

A first cull that covers the whole set.

festcull drops blurred and blown-out frames, then picks a fifth of the rest, spread across every moment of the set. It prefers a clean, uncut face. Swap any pick for the frame you like with one key, then apply: the red label shows in your editor.

9 in 10 keepers covered, from a fifth of the shoot.

Tested on festivals already culled by hand: for 9 of every 10 photos the photographer kept, the shortlist held a frame from the same 2 seconds. The final frame is always your call.

Nothing leaves your computer.

festcull never writes to your RAWs. No account, no subscription, and the licence works offline. It runs before Camera Raw, Lightroom Classic or Capture One, not instead of them.

Works with what you have.

Every camera brand, on Mac, Windows or Linux. Bridge, Camera Raw, Lightroom Classic and Capture One read its labels and ratings. Shoot conferences or tournaments? Tell us what your schedule looks like when you sign up.

Coming later: editing in the same window.

The sliders and keys you already know, in the loupe you cull in. These photos from EMM 2025 were edited in it.

Built by a festival photographer.

festcull is made by Kaloyan Krastev, a festival photographer who shoots from the pit, and his company Kalatech. It takes over the slowest part of every festival night: sorting and culling thousands of frames by band.
